Gomaru Ryu Gojukido
The Way of the Strong Gentle Spirit
This system is a Modal Art of Tasumaru Ryu Bujutsu which teaches the basic elements of Jujutsu movement and technique in an internal yet dynamic fashion comparable to certain styles of Tai Chi. Gojukido progression consists of three levels, Basic, Intermediate and Advanced.
The Basic Catalog consists of breathing exercises, stances, footwork, hand positions, and basic techniques. Many of these elements are taught through the use of short patterns consisting of only 2 or 3 movements.
The Intermediate Catalog takes the student through a total of 8 Short forms, 4 Long forms and 4 weapon forms.
The Advanced Catalog consists of
bunkai study and other application principles.
